Marco Polo International Airport of Venice-Mestre is located in Tessera, about 13 km from the center of Venice, 8 km from Mestre and 47 km from Padua. It is named after the great Venetian explorer Marco Polo who lived in the thirteenth century. His travels to the court of the Chinese Khan were written under dictation by Rustichello da Pisa and published under the title of Il Milione. The third floor is used for the check-in room, the offices of the airlines, the operational offices of ENAC.
