The Church of San Stae is located along the Grand Canal in Campo San Stae, inside the Santa Croce district.

Architectural description of the Church of San Stae

The church of Sant'Eustachio, S. Stae in Venetian, presents one of the most theatrical facades among the churches on the Grand Canal, both for the space in front of the building and for the abundance of marble groups that make it an example of late baroque architecture.

The architect Domenico Rossi won the competition for the facade of the church in 1709, while the interior is slightly earlier and is due to the architect Giovanni Grassi.

The interior preserves many works by the masters of the Venetian '700: San Jacopo linked to a young manigold work of the Piazzetta, the Martyrdom of San Bartolomeo (1720) by Tiepolo, San Pietro freed from the prison of Sebastiano Ricci and numerous paintings by Pittoni.
