Architectural description of the Church of San Simeone Piccolo

The name in full is Church of San Simeone and Giuda, it was founded in the ninth century, but the current building dates back to the intervention of the architect Giovanni Scalfarotto (1718-1738) who deliberately eyed the model of the Roman Pantheon.

The circular interior with pillars and Corinthian columns is dominated by the large dome. It is probably an interesting building from an architectural point of view that is strictly artistic, but it should be mentioned the sacristy where there is a marble Christ and other statuettes by Giovanni Marchiori (eighteenth century).

San Simeone Piccolo is the last church that officiates Mass in Latin in Venice.
