For the first time, a selection of glass works by American artists and designers will be exhibited in Venice with the aim of closely examining the influence of aesthetics and traditional Venetian glass processing techniques in the American Glass Studio from the 1960s to today.

From September the Stanze del Vetro will exhibit the glass art of Thomas Stearns at San Giorgio. The American artist attended the Venini glassworks in the early 1960s and, after an initial period in which he approached the Murano techniques, he began to create some works with an extremely original and unusual character for local production.

For the first time at an international level, the work of a great glass craftsman still little known in the world artistic scene is presented to the general public; over 200 works and numerous preparatory drawings will be on display at the Stanze del Vetro on the Island of San Giorgio (Cini Foundation) highlighting the incredible originality of the French glassmaker. Will be exhibited works of the entire career of Marinot: from the first realizations to enamel to the blown glass and modeled in person with extraordinary skill and inexhaustible inventive capacity.
